Again I hope this finds everyone in good health.

Debunking – to expose the sham or falseness of…

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/debunk

So over the last couple of days I have debunked a series of pictures of a video of an alleged Bigfoot peeping in a window. The debunking was largely based on the submitters outright lies. That combined with the ridiculousness of the nature of the statement he had made easily showed that the pictures submitted could not be real.

Part one of the investigation dealt with the man’s story and how it doesn’t fit true to his background. Inconsistencies were found.

Part two dealt with the little information we had on the photos and combined them what we do know, where the submitter lived. And the theory seemed to match pretty well.

The majority of folks are in line with the results. But there are a very few hold-outs claiming that this “debunking” is not valid because the pictures were not disproven. Apparently, lying about how the pictures were taken and came to be is not enough to debunk them. HUH?

writer-laptop-c83a907fb7e84bd4973f819d05af59e4

So apparently the ONLY thing on the above screen we are to believe is the photos?

There does seem to be a confirmation bias along with this syndrome as well.

My reply was the following to this:

Debunking doesn’t have to deal with the photos, although if you read part II I did deal with the photos. The story is a LIE. People act with such naivety.

Everyone is focusing on his record. That wasn’t the only point. His wife has passed, and he doesn’t live nor does he own property as he stated, in Bailey. BS in equals BS out. If you have a BS story you have BS evidence.

The reason why people get duped is they are two dimensional which people ignore the problems with his story as shown in 2 different blogs and. How can you debunk photos when you have no real information nor an original file? You can’t.

Why did he wait almost three years to say something about this? (His own Facebook page didn’t have these pictures on them until March of this year.)

Conveniently has a video recorder next to him?

Didn’t call his wife to see what was going on?

Videotapes for ten minutes..then he thinks of grabbing his gun?

Original file destroyed in a fire?

Come on… people THINK!!

Vague details on what sheriff’s department he called or where this alleged fire was. Vagueness in verifiable details is a huge flag.

But some people have such strong confirmation bias, that they are willing to overlook REALITY. Dyer’s tent video and 2nd body was a great example of that.

People forget in the REAL world when physical evidence is scarce or limited; what real-world investigators do is look at the suspect account.

So is this your stance now that if someone takes a picture of a Sasquatch that no story can be used to verify or debunk a claim, only the pictures? So if someone reports seeing Sasquatch we should just take their word? I mean if you find flaws in their story it is a "debunking" rather than a debunking.

If certain people believe that, enjoy your "research."

I find it pretty biased that people that state, "just because he can’t have a gun doesn’t mean he didn’t have one." Agreed he could. But it’s also kind of stupid to put that on blast around the internet.

Why do you call the photographer the "alleged" photographer? He admitted he was. Seems to me you use quotes when you want to emphasize sarcasm. Matter of fact every reference on the internet points back to him as the source of the photos. Or are you trying to shape a new theory based on….? Confirmation bias perhaps?

I say this not as a criticism but as a teachable moment.

What evidence do you have that the photos are legitimate? You don’t because his story is BS.

But the other points of the debunking are being ignored. Why is common sense being ignored? Why? Confirmation Bias.

It is inconceivable to me, other than confirmation bias, that a person would overlook someone’s statement to rule or rule out a piece of evidence’s reliability.

In the case of Susan Smith, the evidence was 2 missing kids and a car. The police had nothing other than that besides her statement. How did they debunk she was carjacked? By breaking down her story.

Similarly here we are left with a series of photos with NOTHING to verify their authenticity. All we had was the story. So there you have it.

Inconsistencies in ANY investigation, civil, criminal, cryptid, UFO or paranormal, regardless if evidence is collected or not is a huge flag.

Not only did our investigation provide the submitter’s real address, it gave us confirmation of something we suspected in the photos in regards to the lights in the background.

Rather than today going on a long soliloquy of the process of investigation we just wanted to bring this gem of an excuse up.

On Squatch-D TV this Sunday we will be breaking down the investigation as well as having our good friend Ben Radford on.

Why I do what I do…

Hey gang. Well with summer almost gone it’s time to be gearing up for the Autumn Squatching Season. It’s all to a rip roaring start too for me as a new report from law enforcement came to me from a nearby county.

Last night I did a Squatch-D TV show with some serious overtones which may not necessarily be everyone’s cup of tea.

See on Squatch-D TV, I have promised to give everyone “The good, the bad and the ugly.” And sometimes it is ugly. I talk about an actual “Bigfoot Cult” that has sprouted up over the last several years. It is now to the point where the Sasquatch are “healing” people.

Capture

…or is wrong for that matter too.

Our mission at Squatch-D TV is not clickbait, which seems to be the trend lately on some shows. We are not here to tell you unsubstantiated claims of people shooting a Sasquatch, or how Sasquatch was trying to kill someone. Or give in to fantasies, or Biblical explanations for a naturally occurring phenomena. We are here to educate. A new tack. Something for the upcoming decade rather than the same dried up, “Tonight we are interviewing… some researcher or witness.” Now we are able to show people things and bring the discussion to them and do some live time analysis.

A question was posed this morning, “Why…what’s the point. I mean do you really think you’re doing a service to the Bigfoot Community”

My answer is an unequivocal yes

“What I do on the new program are analysis and education. Not every show is for everybody. What I talked about last night for the last 45 minutes of the show is a cult centered around Bigfoot.

If that prevents one person from wasting their time and getting involved in something that has possible malignant purposes then I have accomplished that. task. I have been doing good, solid research for the last 21 years and I grow tired of seeing cults of personalities and hoaxers destroying what is left of what little credibility we had.

My organization’s tenets are very clear. 5 simple tenets, the last one is the tough one. But it is done to remain credible. We cannot point to the positive and ignore the negative, that’s called bias.

Again I know not every show, or every segment on the show is for everyone. Neither is every Coast 2 Coast or Ground Zero or X-Zone show (some of the conspiracy theories…ugh) but that’s okay. Every one in a while we have to do a cleansing show and gets out the ugly. Say what HAS to be said. Be honest with ourselves, because some people have been showing a real lack of that lately.

That keeps us honest and open with our audience. I know it distresses some people that want to see only the positive in this field but again what happens is we engage in conversation about topics after the show about things we have ignored or distresses us. Despite it all, I feel more positive about the field than I have in years.”

When I think of this types of response, I remind people that when I set forth Squatchdetective.com, I set forth a set of Tenets to base my research on. I call them the Five Tenets of Bigfoot Research.

Capture2

Hence the #StopTheWoonacy movement which I have discussed in a previous blog. It’s time for the lunatics, the hoaxers and the charlatans to stop bullying us and trying to dominate legitimate, scientific research being done today.

Till next time…

Squatch-D

One of the toughest tasks to overcome in the cryptid world is ignorance. Now there is also a fringe of this element that goes on in the paranormal world that is applicable as well. (The folks that are holier than thou thinking paranormal investigation is the “devil’s work.”)

So first let me say this disclaimer, Folks who have followed me for years know what I am about. In 2009 when we released Squatchdetective.com 2.0, we issued what I called the Five Tenets of Bigfoot Research. It was OUR mission statement.

1456438

First let me explain the Five Tenets.

Tenet 1: Keep an open mind.

By keeping an open mind it allows you to see what others may miss.

In living that, we should live that everywhere all the time. A closed mind not only makes blind to what may be going on around us, but also stymies us from life fulfillment. If I did not have an open mind, I would have never gotten into this field. It does not mean you cannot have preconceived notions, just that you should be flexible to change and challenge your own thoughts and thought processes.

Tenet 2: Remain objective

An open mind does not mean compromising reality.

Just because we have an open mind does not mean proven logic and science are thrown out the window. They still apply. An open mind with no barriers is fantasy. Objectivity is the perimeter that we must keep at all times. The beauty is, that works both ways.Objectivity and Open Mindedness are not antagonists, they work hand in hand in solving problems.

Tenet 3: Always tell the truth

Honesty is the best policy, never be afraid to report results that are negative towards your quest.

Here is the hitch-pin of what we do. What would we be if we weren’t honest not only with the public, but with ourselves? A person is only born with one integrity. Should it be compromised, you might as well hang up your trail cams. When I got into this field, I thought it was going to be ALL debunked. Little did I know. If you make a mistake, admit it. Don’t try to cover it up, or blame others. Nobody is perfect. To err is human. Embrace it. If you are in it for the glory, a sociopath, a hoaxer, or so self absorbed, throw this Tenet out the window.

Tenet 4: Responsibility to educate

Educating the public about the phenomena is a responsibility not an option.

We must do this. Not to advance our cause, or convince people what we believe in, they should believe in. But rather they understand the platform in which we come from is not one from silly thought, fantasy nor open mindedness without the barriers of objectivity, but rather from experience, science and solid investigative work. It is also a must to negate all the falsities and misconceptions that are said of the phenomena that casts a bad light on us as a collective.

Tenet 5: Expose the charlatans

Part of education is exposing the harbingers that bring junk science and misnomers to the world of Bigfoot research.

This is part of our job as well. We must stand for the truth, and when falsities and the truth are not vigorously defended, it is submission to the lies, hoaxers and misconceptions that are told of the phenomena. By saying nothing, you are standing for nothing.

Dealing with ignorance

Now first let me speak of something. When I posted the last blog, someone whom I had once known got on there and said I am fixated with the subject of  the last blog. We all should be. Why? Because he is still trying to get money from people, in his latest reinvention, for reasons as he explained in the past. More of the same. I didn’t fixate on him, the mainstream media did.  It wasn’t like I was looking to write another article on him, but to ignore what was said in the media would be a violation of Tenet 5.

Second, this person,  placed it on my fan page. I am sorry but that is just plain rude. He said something about me baiting him on Squatchdetective Radio over something not even related to the matter, which shows the man’s pettiness and why he has been blocked for years on my personal page. I guess asking tough questions is “baiting.”

This man, whom once called me and asked my opinion of the prior. I told him my opinions and shared some facts just after writing or in the process of writing my book on the topic: “ Fifty Large.”

His response? To get angry with me, and work with him anyway. Well, if he didn’t like what I was going to say, or value it, then why ask other than to run back to the prior and stir up trouble. Needless to say months later he called me and told me he had been burned by him. Sorry not even a crocodile tear; you were warned.

hypocrisy

Mind you he joined with this Hall of Shamer,  after the 2008 hoax the prior was involved in, and after he had announced his retirement from making films on cryptids, because of hoaxers, liars, etc.

So who does he turn to? Who does he think he really fooling?

What he wanted was a film award, and admitted  that to me, during the fateful day’s discussion. That’s why after announcing his “retirement” he went to the first inductee. The shot at getting the prestigious Pocono Mountain Film Festival Award. Hence…glory.

Today, by the looks of it, he still hasn’t retired, after making the rude and “lies by omission,”  comments under the guise of nicety, on my fan page. My social platforms are MY social platforms so since he has announced his retirement, many years ago, I felt obliged to retire him from his obsession with what I write.

Typical of this man’s tender ego, despite me not even naming him, I expect an email, or blog comment for approval blasting me for not being, “nice” as he put it. This guy has a habit of trying to get lawyers to shut people up about anything negative. Sound familiar?

Reference:

Look towards the bottom of the page for the story, Legal Beagle:  https://squatchdetective.wordpress.com/2015/06/19/is-it-me-or-is-this-year-a-bit-quiet/

Let’s see if reverse psychology works on this guy.

Well when people deceive, have deceived, and having seen it firsthand, funny how facts aren’t “nice.” Sometimes, as I am with this guy, I am tired of being nice. I won’t even go into his junk science film.

But ignoring the habitual hoaxers is a mistake. It allows them to build steam, and invalidates Tenet 4. That’s why we do it. And if it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I understand. They’ll be other blogs on other days.

I am not writing this blog for glory or popularity and definitely not money. I write this because it is how I feel and fulfillment of Tenet 4.

Mind you I do appreciate all the kind words over the years of me giving you my thoughts and calling them like I see them.

This blog is “Thoughts from the Squatchdetective,” so I get not everyone appreciates every thing I write. But what I do know is that some appreciate all, some appreciate some, and probably some appreciate none.

Squatchdetective Radio Update:

NewRadioLogo

Hey folks apologies to all, but Beyond Borders Paranormal Radio Network, has experienced severe technical difficulties resulting in the suspension of all network shows until a better delivery platform can be arranged. We thought originally this would be a shorter hiatus than it has been, but everyone hold tight, we’ll be back soon enough.  — Steve & Chris

Till Next Time,

Squatch-D

This year seems a bit strange to me. For the first time in several years nothing major was going on. No Ketchum Project, No Sierra Shooting style news, the Sykes project is pretty much finished. Kind of sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for the “next big thing.”

Nonetheless the field team and I did stretch our legs a bit this year however, although nothing at all to report we had a wonderful time and getting out there with one of our Western NY folks Mike!

                201505239519583020150522_171317

                 20150523_11323720150523_125908

We have gotten a trickle of sightings reports coming in, and we are actively investigating this long term situation. We visited the property and are extremely excited at the prospect of obtaining some evidence.

Air time!!!

Radio2

We are now looking for guests for Squatchdetective Radio as we go to a whole new user friendly format.

We will no longer be a live format show, unfortunately because of schedules and finding a network host that could work for us. We just couldn’t make a live show work since our hiatus, so we’ve gone to this more polished format.

We may however once a month or so do a Google Hangout Free for all… Be kind of cool to see who just may show up!

Chris Bennett and I look forward to getting on with getting on!! If anyone is interested on being a guest, just drop me a line at radio@squatchdetective.com.

Legal Beagle… On to the BS D’jour!

On Thursday, May 14th, 2015 I received a “nasty-gram” in my email from Biscardi attorney and Biscardi business partner, Dennis Kazubowski.

It started with this wonderful quip…

“On March 25, 2008, you signed a Limited Association Agreement with Searching for Bigfoot Inc. which is attached to this letter. According to the document you signed, you agreed to hold in confidence any information gathered and further agreed not to disclose or reveal to any person or entity any information discovered under the agreement without the express prior written consent of the other parties.”

-Letter to Steve Kulls from Biscardi attorney, Dennis Kazubowski 5/14/15

Well I did sign a Limited Association Agreement for a single expedition on March 25, 2008 which would serve as my last outing as a contractor with Biscardi.

I find it a bit odd that an attorney would list this as the first salvo in an attempt to have me remove my Blog and Hall of Shame pages on Biscardi and his activities.

Because this is what the confidentiality agreement ACTUALLY said…

“The parties to this agreement agree to HOLD IN CONFIDENCE any information gathered from this expedition and further not to disclose or reveal any person or entity or any information disclosed under this agreement…”

He kind of left out the whole, from this expedition,” part. Since I revealed nothing about my last expedition with SFBI part on my Website or Blog… that’s out.

The confidentiality clause was part of a LIMITED agreement, clearly defined and stated within the agreement.

As far as the Hall of Shame Page, my book “Fifty Large,” both California, and New York have a ONE year statute of limitation on defamation claims. Nevada, the State in which Biscardi’s enterprises have filed there incorporations has a two year statute. Since the Hall of Shame Page came out in 2010 and Fifty Large in 2011, they’re out as fair game for any consideration for defamation.

As far as libel, defamation, what have I said that was not backed up by fact?

That Biscardi was involved in the 2008 hoax? The other two hoaxers implicated him.

It was his words and actions and statements (everyone remember “touched it, felt it, smelled it, on Fox News?”) put his responsibility in question.

Why didn’t he sue Dyer and Whitton? In “Not Typical Bigfoot Movie,” Biscardi stated he would sue anyone that would hoax him?

Another element in a defamation case is a falsity with malice or malicious intent.  The latest blog I had posted simple facts and what a cited source had told me.

Biscardi claiming to see a video of your truly riding ATV’s with two hoaxers, as proof I had set him up, when no such video exists because it never happened; THAT is defamation.

Reporting facts, citing sourced information and analysis of such facts is NOT defamation or libel.

Editorial license, is also not defamation nor libel when there is evidence and actions to bring up reasonable questioning. Even parody when it pertains to public figures, (which Biscardi is rest assuredly) as long it does not blur the lines of truth.

It is a fact that Biscardi set up a foreign company with a man under indictment who subsequently plead guilty, for a Ponzi Scheme, who was the former CFO for Searching for Bigfoot.

51e7251b2c9d3.image

David A. Nilsen (Source: Monterey County Weekly.com)

In fact the Monterey County Weekly called Nilsen, “Monterey’s Madoff.” In reference to convicted Ponzi schemer, Bernie Madoff.

Nilsen was indicted on September 8th, 2009 and the indictment was unsealed on September 10th, 2009 after he had surrendered to authorities in San Jose. Nilsen subsequently pled guilty in a plea bargain in Oct. 24th, 2011 and received a sentence of 97 months, in 2012. (Source: FBI.gov)

Very clear from the Nevada Department of State, this Foreign Corporation headed by Nilsen and Biscardi, was clearly after Nilsen’s indictment (June 8th, 2010). It’s status was revoked, however I am unclear of the reasoning behind the revocation, and it could have been something as simple as a missed filing.

Over 250 pages of police reports, public records and an SFBI Business Plan given to me from Rick Dyer which he had gotten from Biscardi.  (Source: Steve Kulls)

My personal opinion of Biscardi, is irrelevant, I do not go on this blog, my sites or other Podcasts and speak untruth without the evidence to back such up about anyone.

And I am not bullied so easily, especially when I lined my ducks up carefully. That’s my profession. My suggestion; “Don’t poke this bear.”

On the road again…

What a year it has been so far! I didn’t get the chance to get out to Salt Fork this year due to work commitments but did do the yearly Cabela’s Rare Strange and Unusual Sightings Weekend in March.

This year I am happy to add two more dates to the speaking line up:

August 21st – 23rd, 2015: Carnival of Parahorror

Quick Program notes

After taking some much needed time off from the blogosphere and had a lot of inner and outer reflections on our goals and studies here at Squatchdetective.com, some amazingly good things are beginning to happen and we are happily planning away at our 2015 research schedule now that this past winter has finally appeared to release most of its nasty grip upon us.

10270588_10152879239310979_6371615094837960539_n The team last fall planning night time activities

On another great note Squatchdetective Radio will soon be on the air once again as we have found a new home at BuzzSprout.com. Chris Bennett and I are quite excited to get back at it again.

Now..the beef of the day

Someone brought up a good point to me the other day. I have been blessed in my life with a terrific family in so much as they accept what I do, and actually either participate or take interest in what I do between Bigfoot Research and my paranormal thing I do over at ExPERT.

There are many reasons why people get involved in Bigfoot Research, Ufology or Paranormal Investigation. For some it wasn’t ever planned, just a chance encounter which immersed them in their particular topic. Others because of an inane curiosity which needs to be satisfied. Others for a thirst of knowledge. Whatever it is, we have all come together with at least one commonality.

The battle for acceptance of loved ones in what we do.

Where the problems and toils begin for many researchers, is when some in their family becomes judgmental and critical. In my “older age” I have lost much patience for such.

Again I was blessed to have a parent, as my father passed away prior to this long foray into the Cryptid world and Paranormal, that was supportive. My father however also introduced me to this world and had quite an open mind to such mysteries.

My family always told me my father would have been proud to see what I have accomplished thus far. I am very modest, but my family dotes a bit much that I have been on TV, written books and does something very exciting.

To me its just having fun, a passion, friendships and some level of excitement. I have always stated that if you turn a passion into a career, then that is a life fulfillment. Although it is not a full time career, it still dominates a lot of what I do in my spare time. I am blessed to have a girlfriend right along side of me in my endeavors.

If what you do brings you joy (in multiple senses), and brings joy to some others (which is what we generally try to do here and especially in the paranormal field by helping folks), then that, is a special life of fulfillment.

Unfortunately some families that fail to see their own shortcomings because of a close minded, or “all knowing” approach, or throwing the “God Card,” as I call it. And criticize and even at times mock their loved one. That is a failure on their part not only in their own lives’ fulfillment but an injustice to those that they claim to love. Love is unconditional so should acceptance.

I have family with different political viewpoints than I, but I love them and accept their beliefs unconditionally. We may spar over these things, but it is respectful and never, “your ideas are a farce, or stupid.”

At the very least we try to understand the importance and meanings of our beliefs to each as an individual and accept them.
