Yep it’s been a while. That’s because it’s summer and I tend to work a lot, and this year had the added bonus of a couple of new events.

We did a preliminary scout on a piece of private property and several years of experiences by a family. So this month we go full tilt on the investigation so stay tuned!

Just recently we have just turned up another case in Vermont!

Things that go bump in the night!

First was the Boonies International Film Festival in Warren, Pa., where a documentary I was featured in debuted.

The documentary, I’ve Seen Bigfoot, debuted to a great crowd, on both the sneak peek night at the Alleghany Outfitters and at the Struthers Library Theater in Warren.

CaptureMe on the big screen and in Hi-Def with a Dolby Sound system.

The film was from the witnesses’ perspective and is not your typical “debate” documentary. The soundtrack made the film was awesome and at times it makes you feel the palpable nervousness of some of the witnesses.

It will debuting on DVD and Blu-Ray and available for purchase at the Chautauqua Lake Bigfoot Expo October 24th, 2015.

Things that go bump in the night, part two!

Next stop on the summer tour, was ScareFest8 in Lexington, Kentucky, where yours truly was honored to be a speaker on my favorite topic of Sasquatch. It’s always great to speak to folks who aren’t in “the know” as many of us are or may not follow the topic as closely as some.

Great turnout for the “Bigfoot: Before Your Eyes” presentation I gave at ScareFest8.

It was nice having all seats filled and a few on the floor in back, knowing there were three other presentations going on at the same time. This shows, despite what we may think as the Bigfoot research community, the general public is still hungry for the topic.

From left to right: With Fact or Faked’s Ben Hansen, with Expedition Unknown’s Josh Gates and finally at the booth just prior to opening the doors on the last day.

I did get to catch Ben Hansen’s presentation. He’s the former FBI agent that heads up the team on SyFy’s Fact or Faked: The Paranormal Files. He spoke about profiling hoaxers and hoaxing.

Ben also ended his presentation about body language and facial expressions and how it would appear our President may have been fibbing or holding back when asked about UFO’s on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Fascinating stuff!

I enjoyed my conversations with Ben, and also a couple with Josh Gates from The Travel Channel’s: Expedition Unknown.

For those who know me well enough, I am also a Co-founder of a Paranormal group, and of course at the conclusion of ScareFest8 on Sunday we were treated to an impromptu one hour investigation to Bobby Mackey’s Music World.

Memory Lane…

Before the return home I took a quick detour to an old site famous site. A drive by the site of the Erickson Project in Kentucky, where the infamous “pancake eater” video came from.

Details of exact location of course will be omitted. And the pictures have been altered to avoid any direct connection to the actual property.

The house no longer looks like a research project house, but was a little surprised to see the old trailer still there. It now has the appearance of a quaint country home. Out of respect for the owners, I didn’t get out and knock, nor walk around and gawk. Just a quick two drivebys.

Of course the original owners the property claimed after they sold the property to Mr. Erickson’s property company, that the Sasquatch followed them to their new house, and were trying to get researchers to pay up for some action there, unbeknownst to Mr. Erickson via their cousin, who coincidentally tried calling a research colleague of mine, with offers when the “Erickson Project” film was trying to be released. Oh what a tangled web.

A slight change of pace…

If you’ve noticed a change of pace in me the past couple of years its for good reason. There has been tons of negativity in the research community over the last year. It seems when people don’t have a DNA project to kick around, someone claiming to shoot a Sasquatch or two, a buffoon yelling for Snapple, or a dope tripping over his own two feet because he’s wearing cowboy boots, and for that matter some crazy lady that looks like the “Marge” character on meth there seems to be a battle between critical thinking, the Paranormalists (aka Woo) and flesh & blood folk.

So here is some truth and parody…

Stinking Thinking

See the critical thinkers, think so much they find fault with everything so nothing is real and EVERYTHING gets shot down. These are the same folks that say we need science, but when science is applied, suddenly opinion takes precedence. Let’s change it to what it is…scofticism.

I get not seeing Jesus in the grilled cheese sandwich…I just don’t get all the casual dismissals. How bout some critical thinking on critical thinking. I think that would be in order. Or at least some critical thinking, on how to fix critical thinking from becoming the exact opposite of critical thinking. Don’t ya think?

On a serious note,  you CAN be a critical thinker without being a skeptic. Hell I always do that on investigations and analysis. It’s called keeping an open mind. It’s to the point though that people are infiltrating groups where they do not belong…example scoftics with the critical thinkers. And then the defense is, “oh it’s just critical thinking.” No it’s not critical thinking, its scofticism and its bullshit in many cases.

Moderation folks…moderation and it needs to be combined with an open mind, fairness and even at times compassion.

NEXT…

Pardon me boys..is that the Chattanooga Woo Woo?

The “Woo” folks think so much they’ve come up with creative ways to say they’ve seen Bigfoot, or explain that why us super intelligent beings we are can’t catch a Sasquatch. (Obviously they are a super race more smart, cultured and empathic, though for some reason they smell bad, write and exchange gifts like second graders and don’t wear underpants!).

I still have to keep an open mind… I mean I run a ghost group too, I guess if it was a ghost of a Sasquatch, I’d be more understanding. But ITS NOT.

The Worlds according to Woo, it’s either a Bigfoot that has a  portal , wormhole, cloaks etc. or hitches a ride with a UFO. Not that I don’t believe in UFO’s, I just don’t believe they’re connected.

The  Bigfoot-UFO folks don’t necessarily agree with the Woo folks where Biggie cloaks out or checks out in the wormhole, portal or maybe even HG Well’s Time Machine itself.

This reads almost better than a Sasquatch braiding horse hair on a ranch in Texas which may come in a close second. Seriously folks, let’s look up Elf Knots, Fairy Braiding, Devil’s knots… read it here.

NEXT…

Keeping Score without a scorekeeper…

There is so many folks who don’t like certain other folks I am beginning to forget what folks that don’t like me. Sometime the folks that don’t like me, like folks that like me, that may not necessarily know that folks like me like them. Those folks usually end up liking me and disliking the folks that dislike me. Is that an oxymoron? You folks tell me.

Usually it’s the hoaxer folks that don’t like me… that’s okay. I try not to dislike any folks, except the hoaxer folks, and its not that I dislike folks of that sort, I just want nothing to do with those folks on a regular basis or any basis for that matter.

Here’s some people that do not like me… (They used to be the “A-String”)

On that note….these Bigfoots don’t like me either…

But for that matter, I don’t like those Bigfoots (Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Sasquatchesis whatever, either!

Finally…

Lighten up everyone. We’re in this for the fun of it. Make a resolution to patch up a lost friend by the end of the year. Life is way too short to have such a wonderful avocation turn into a battle-royal everyday.

None of this was meant to offend just offer a chuckle, perhaps change a thought process a bit…so everyone have a great day and good health!!!

Till Next Time,

Squatch-D

Hi gang… after a much needed rest, I am slowly easing myself into operational mode.

Have to mention this…

First, I think everyone is shocked and saddened at the loss of Robin Williams, not only being 63 but in the manner in which he has passed.

Many folks don’t know this but when I was a teenager, I had a friend who committed suicide hours after basically saying goodbye to all his friends, talking to them one last time. I spoke with him about an hour and a half before he took a .357 to the mouth.  It gave me a prolific manner in which I look at suicide.

Robin Williams 7/21/51 – 8/11/14

Let’s all take a minute to remember those friends we have that struggle with depression, and the devastating toll it takes not only on them but their family members and friends. Let’s reach out to them and make sure they are “ok.”

And if they need help… stage your own intervention. Get them the help. I know in all circumstances this is not possible, but if this message saves one person down the road, it has served its purpose.

Announcements:

On June 24th, I began working again as a private investigator once again, and my area covers five surrounding states. So I am on the road constantly during the week but have access (unless I am in God’s country) to email, internet and social networking.

On July 2nd this year my apartment flooded due to the malfeasance of the property caretakers. So we immediately packed and made an emergency move which worked out for the best.

So now we are into a month of casual unpacking. Soon to be in the field with the Squatchdetective Field Team again, and happy to get the Massachusetts contingent up and running.

We’re finalizing some reports from Vermont, thanks to our man there, Frank Siecienski and help from author Paul Bartholomew.

Squatchdetective Radio will be returning sometime in October as both Chris Bennett and I are looking forward to getting back into the hot topics of the Bigfoot world, and I am toying with a new format as well.

Lot’s of nothing has happened since my “vacation,” but since I’ve been nosing around things have been popping up like crazy.

Strange…2 of our three stories of the day have a derivative of “falcon” in it.

Falcon Project gets funded…

Internet rumor has it that the Falcon Project, run by our friend William Allen Barnes, has gotten $250K in funding for 3 dirigibles.

That’s stupendous! and congratulations are in order if true for their dedication and perseverance of getting the project off the ground, both metaphorically and literally.

There’s our first Falcon….now off to a Falconer!

Standing’s last stand?

As we’ve tried to educate readers here over the last 8 years, Todd Standing was my second inductee into the Hall of Shame. Even the man who “found God,” was number three.

In fact Todd puts the man who “found God” to shame. He hasn’t been just a flash in the pan. He’s been consistent making headlines over the years and actually has been able to garner a little credo, via the Canadian Parliament (who quickly retracted), and “Survivor Man,” and has managed to get Dr. Jeff Meldrum to co-host a radio show with him.

Reason being, is… he’s a better actor than, “I found Jesus,” whose over the top performances and “I dare you attitudes,” amongst other severe sociopathic tendencies has made him easy to read.

Fact is Todd’s delivery and presentation is much more an act of scientific presentation than a Barnum and Bailey act as the previous.

Over the years, such as Todd’s “Puppet Face” where we’ve pointed out the anomalies on the shadowing of the branches, even so much as having a photographic expert come on Squatchdetective Radio to verify as much, the line at the bottom of the septum (nose), as well and let’s not forget “Blinky,” where we completely destroyed the idea that was a video, but part of a composite.

The following was presented to me by Daniel Falconer and Phil Poling. It is a critical examination of the Sylvanic bigfoot videos released by Todd Standing.

After reading such, it backs up many of the things we stated earlier over the years and has some other interesting analysis which rather slaps Standing right in the face, and it should be a cold shower to the “Standlings” aka Todd’s supporters.

Speaking engagement in October

Yes back to Chautauqua Lake this year for the weekend of October 24th –26th.

Different format and lineup this year, sans me of course, and we will be bringing Vermont Researcher Frank Siecienski (also who nabbed the Vt. Trail Cam Photo in 2010). Other speakers TBA as soon as I hear confirmation.

Things are in the works so I will try to get them to you as fast as possible.

2013-CLBF

Meanwhile event organizer Peter Weimer once again is trying to petition the State and Federal governments to offer protection to the yet to be discovered species as a precaution… that petition can be found here and I encourage all to sign and add their name to the ever growing list of people calling for protection of the species.

A brief sidebar…

For the conference “poo-pooers” out there note, the speakers in this conference are not being paid for their appearance, only certain expenses are being covered.

We do this because we love to talk all things Bigfoot / Sasquatch meet and greet other researchers and most of all hear more encounter reports straight from the witnesses.

If occasionally somebody pays me for a speaker honorarium etc. I put that towards the costs of website, radio show production, my cryptid / paranormal library and most of all equipment.

                                                                                                                —Steve

I hope to see some of you there!!!

Till Next Time…
