Here comes a long one folks…

There are times that make me shake my head. As with all things in life there are folks out there that lie through their teeth, to deceive and obtain funds from folks. One such person is an self proclaimed East Texas Sasquatch researcher by the name of Robert “Bob” Garrett, who often calls himself, “The Hermit.” The man eventually became the leader of a for profit LLC, called the The Texas Big Thicket Watch Guide Service.

Bob “The Hermit” Garrett

Many came to know Garrett from the controversial podcast, “The Sasquatch Chronicles.” Which for a long time catered to the notion that Sasquatch is a violent creature with a disdain for his less hairy primate relatives, us.

Garrett started off appearing to be a legitimate, caring researcher, never espousing a violent nature of the creatures, but I believe, in my opinion, seeing the early success of the “Sasquatch Chronicles,” hitched his wagon to the malevolent side of Sasquatch, and began to tell tales on the podcast of the mean streak of the hairy hominid creatures.

The Sasquatch Chronicles, itself was not shy of controversy as it was born out of the show hosts’ encounter. Wes and Woody had alleged an encounter in which they claim they were surrounded by a group of Sasquatch, where some of the environmental surroundings claimed on the encounter, did not seem to mesh up with the actual weather data collected at the time.

They asked for the intervention of the Washington Sasquatch Research Team (WASRT), which responded to the scene the next day, but they failed to find any corroborative evidence to their claims.

…Wes said on the show that he’d contacted WASRT—perhaps hoping for great validity. So WASRT’s report was revealed (no moon, no evidence) and then Wes curiously insisted that he’d merely called them (even though their website had no phone number) and certainly had never emailed them. Upon hearing this, WASRT promptly disclosed that at least 26 emails existed between Wes and the team.

A full account of that can be read here in the DailyBeast.com

As far as Garrett’s tales of violence inside the Big Thicket of east Texas, Researcher Julie Rench, having relatives in the area decided to reach out on her own to corroborate Garrett’s claims with Texas Wildlife and Law Enforcement Officials.

“…Mrs.  Rench, we have not found anyone dead in the big thicket. We have no reports of such story. This does not match any deaths that we in Hardin County have had. If you get more information on this let us know…

…Not aware of this story you are asking about. We did have two people missing near Chester who were later found deceased in 2012-2013. This investigation was conducted by Tyler County Sheriff’s Office. They were residents of Polk County.

…I sent an email to Sasquatch Chronicles on February 1st and advised them that I had been in contact with some of the Law Enforcement in Texas and I could not verify the story that two people were killed and asked if they had checked into it as well.  I did not receive a response.  Shortly after the email I was removed and blocked from the Sasquatch Chronicles Facebook group.”

Her research can be found here on the Bigfoot Anarchy Blog. It is very thorough and concise.

The phone call

In December I had received a call from a couple of concerned members of the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center (MABRC) that a friend of theirs had been taken for $1000.00 on one of Garrett’s expeditions that had been cancelled. They set up a phone call with the young lady from Missouri.

Email wr (Web)

The victim, receiving instructions from Garrett’s daughter.

paypal receipt (web)

In February of 2016 she had paid for an expedition with the Texas Big Thicket Watch Guide Service, payable to one Robert Garrett, in the amount of $1000.00. Only to be told later that the expedition had been cancelled because they had been shut down by the federal government. When she spoke with Garrett she had asked about getting her money back, but Garrett said he was broke because he had to pay huge fines. If he gave her some time he would pay her back. He eventually stopped answering her calls.

First, I had to research Garrett’s claims and second, see if he would be willing to pay the victim back.

Garrett had made claims of Federal harassment because of the “murders” he uncovered of the Sasquatch, including a ripped up campsite he allegedly came across with his son Travis.

“I have reviewed the videos and I still do not see anything that can not be attributed to human activity. In my younger days I went to many bush parties and witnessed things far worse than this. I have seen "tore up" woods and it was due to drunken idiots hacking down trees or from people intentionally running in to trees with their trucks. People due stupid things while under the influence of alcohol.

I have been on bike runs and plenty of poker runs that involved over night stays in campgrounds. I have seen what sauced up, half-in-the-pail adults will do. I have seen torn up camps and the camp in this video pales in comparison.”

                                                            – Rand Filipovic March 24th, 2015

                                                          Bigfoot Anarchy Blog

An analysis of that was done by researcher Steve Alcorn and Randy Filipovic and can be found here on Bigfoot Anarchy.

I had to be sure Garrett was telling the truth about being shut down by the Feds. It was…just not for the reasons he claimed. We all know about running paid expeditions on Federal lands. In case you don’t; You need permits. Something Garrett wasn’t apparently willing to do, or unable to do.

An investigation full of surprises

First and foremost I wanted to ascertain the validity he was shut down by the government. The answer to that was no. He just wasn’t able to go to the National Park anymore. Last I knew the NP wasn’t the only game in town in East Texas for Bigfoot research, as I have been there in the past on expeditions and never hit that NP once. So he was not “shut down,” just at that location. His acumen as a Bigfoot researcher really shows poorly, for if he as good as he claims, he could have moved onto another active area (as Texas is full of them) and at least had some modest results.

This led me to looking at the profiles of Bob Garrett, Tim Sermons and Mo Michaux who were the three involved in organizing the Big Thicket expeditions.

Nothing on Garrett or Sermons on social media. Sermons was not active at all, and Garrett was very active, but just not about Sasquatch for some time. However in looking at The Big Thicket Watch Guide Service Facebook profile, I noticed  comments by Mo Michaux.

Big Thicket FB

Capture II FB

Intrigued I contacted Michaux and got a plethora of information.  So lets go over the basics.

1. The Texas Big Thicket Watch Guide Service conducted 3 expeditions between February 2016 and April 2016.

2. In February 16th they were confronted by the NPS. The NPS warned them and told them they had to leave within 24 hours.

This was confirmed by a participant I contacted,

FEDs showed up and informed us that BG didn’t have a permit and we all need to be out of there within 24 hours.

3. The Texas Big Thicket Watch Guide Service was not shut down because of any government conspiracy covering up murders in the park as claimed by Garrett, but because he was consistently told he did not have a permit to do what he was doing. He ignored the first warning and got shut down and fined. But just in the park.

4. The first expedition Garrett proceeded to play an audio recording and spin a yarn at the “real reason” why they were being thrown out. Because a Sasquatch had torn up a camp and after the night video they had shot, he and his son had found a woman twisted, but alive, in a tree with a Sasquatch guarding it, in which Garrett had gotten an audio of it growling at them. He then proceeded to play the audio for the expeditioners.

Again confirmed with the participant,

“We were then informed by either Mo or Tim that Bob was pissed-off about the FED’s harassing him and was going to tell us the whole story about the Torn Up Camp Ground. BG presented the whole story which I conveyed to you. He then played the.…vocals for the first time.”

5. It was also confirmed to me by Sasquatch Chronicles host Wes Germer that the recording indeed was Garrett’s.

6. Germer originally blew off Michaux’s revelation that Garrett was hoaxing, by stating the two recordings sounded similar but weren’t the same in his opinion. He did try to say that to me as well but I told him, in no uncertain terms the recordings were the same and provided him the waveforms which proved such.

Here’s our analysis of the audio which is concrete evidence of Garrett hoaxing,

yt cap

The original sound came from a YouTube video which contained Gorilla Sound effects.

It was very clear from the wave form analysis that this was the same audio file. The waveform on the alleged “Bigfoot” was not as loud indicating it was recorded from perhaps a speaker, and had noise in it, with a fan or electronic noise in the background creating the “fuzziness” on the waveform.

Waveform Analysis

The top stereo track is from the Gorilla effects video and the bottom Mono track is Garrett’s alleged audio of a Sasquatch.

When the two recordings were lined up the perfectly matched in timing and spacial distance. When played together they are clearly the same recording.

Another interesting fact, was that in speaking with Michaux, he stated they never set an LLC up. I had asked that because I had seen that in some of the NDA’s and Waiver forms sent to the victim.

I found out indeed that an LLC was set up electronically by someone without Michaux’s knowledge, despite listing him as a managing member.

Texas DOS

Back to the Money Trail

April 2016 –

“BG gathered everyone together and stated that if the FED’s showed-up and asked if we paid to be on the expedition that we were to say NO. Ten minutes later the FEDS pulled up and stated BG did not have a permit and began to questioned us separately & in groups for approximately 2 hours. While the FEDs where speaking to some of the participants at the other end of the camp, Bob sat down with a few of us and stated that he would be refunding everyone’s money.”

This is again another quote from the participant that went to all of Bob’s expeditions. She ended up having to reverse the charge on her credit card.

Another person I spoke with is from Canada, and she too never had gotten her money back as well from Garrett. To pacify the crowd Garrett had given Michaux the recording to play for everyone which is how the recording ended up in his hands. He in turn shared it with the one of the participants who discovered the Gorilla clip.

The Canadian witness was appalled.

“For someone you don’t even know to ask people that he doesn’t know to lie…he didn’t even blink an eye.”

Not only was she out the $500, but she was out the money  for the car rental, flights, hotel etc., because Garrett did not obtain a permit. Something he was warned about on his very first expedition.

She wrote the Big Thicket email, but never received a response.

After the last incident with the NPS, he was barred, so the remaining expeditions were cancelled, (not rescheduled elsewhere)

The Confrontation

On March 20th, 2017 I had an 18 minute conversation with Bob Garrett after contacting Wes Germer. I had tried for a  week via Facebook messenger and for that day on YouTube mail to contact Garrett with no response, which seems to be a common denominator with him.

To make a long story short, Garrett stated he had no money and ha to pay $6000 in fines. He blamed Michaux, stating he gave him the money to pay people back. When asked about a list of paid participants for the June expedition he said Michaux had it and that he never had one.

“Well if people were paying you, how did Mo know who to pay?”

The conversation went south from there and he raised his voice to me, first questioning why I am involved. My answer was, because one of the people you owe money to asked me.

He stated he doesn’t do the Facebook thing as the reason why he didn’t answer me. But didn’t know what to say when I gave him the exact amount of posts he put on Facebook since my message.

That aggravated him even more. Caught in his own lie.

In fairness, I reached out to Wes Germer afterwards and told him point blank what I thought of Garrett, showed him the evidence and that he is refusing to pay anyone back on the claims that he has no money. Funny thing is Wes knew the real fine, but I had informed him of EXACTLY what Garrett had said. His fine was $6000 Wes stated he had felt horrible people had lost money to this because of his show.

Michaux upon hearing what Garrett had said confronted Garrett and stated I, yes me, had lied and that Tim Sermons had been given the money to pay people back. At that point I needed no verification or authentication that Garrett was a liar and had no intention whatsoever paying people back.

In actuality the fines were slightly less $6000, but it was to be divided by the three men involved, costing each around $1400.

And the kicker…it could be paid in installments.

The Case of the Missing FLIR

A friend known to many Sasquatch researcher by the pseudonym Maximus Decimus Meridius was the property master of a FLIR project where they built FLIR devices much like trap cameras. He provided Tim Sermons with three of them and researcher Chris Noel mailed them one. Long story short they all turned up into the hands of Bob Garrett and only 3 were returned, after first reporting the mailed one never got to him and another was stolen in the woods.

FLIRS returned

The FLIRs returned in a horrible state.

Three of the cameras were returned with $5000 in damage according to Max. According to Michaux, Garrett made the claim they were “given” to him and that wording was used once to “Max.” Michaux also claims that Garrett still has one in proper working order. Michaux also stated that Garrett stated his intention of keeping one stating he will tell them one was stolen. Again these claims are of a he said she said type of thing, but the corroboration of the act of being “given” them versus lent them, was both in the narratives of Michaux and Max.

Thoughts and lessons

First let me give you my thoughts on the Sasquatch Chronicles. Do I think badly of Wes Germer. Well the show’s premise is based on an alleged event, that has been disputed, mainly the evidence of weather. Was Wes caught in a lie when he stated he did not email WASRT. It appears so.

Wes had told me that night of the confrontation that, he told Garrett that I wanted to talk to him and that’s all. He said he was going to call him right away but it took a while for Garrett to get back to me via a text message.

BG Text

Text from Garrett before the phone call. The name is KULLS by the way!

So does it look like Germer had just told Garrett I wanted to talk to him? It would appear much of my conversation with him went to Garrett thus preparing him for what was coming.

In 2005 Coast to Coast with George Nhouri had Tom Biscardi on, where Biscardi claimed he had a captured Sasquatch in Stagecoach, Nevada. Biscardi at the time had a webcam feed subscription and had promised he would get the cams on the captured Sasquatch. Of course the story turned out to be false.

What did George Nhouri do? He banned Biscardi and demanded that all the extra web cam subscriptions since the night of the announcement were refunded.

That is what a responsible journalist does. It’s not Germer’s fault directly that people had gotten taken money. It is a show host to entertain, and yes sometimes people get on shows that are full of shit, but most of the time we are not in a position to immediately investigate their claims. That is entertainment. However as a journalist, and I have does this countless times, if something doesn’t sound right, I question it. If something like this happened on my show, you are damned straight, there are announcements about the validity of the previous guest. If one story is a lie, then guess what? The rest of them true or not are worth a pile of crap.

Germer stated he felt bad about what had happened, and I would like to truly believe him. And if he is truly the man he claims to be then he will do in kind what George Nhouri had done on Coast to Coast some 12 years ago. He will not see this as an attack but as a reflection of perception and reality.

He has known this for a week now…and not a peep as far as I can tell. As to his encounter with his brother, I cannot state any opinion, only report the facts as told by others. I did not investigate it, I was not there end of story. But the first thing I always check is the weather data to help prove some corroboration. That was not there.  I will let the audience be the jury.

I hold no ill will because he provides a service for the money he gets. A form of entertainment. How real is it? Again that’s the audience’s decision. I can only report what I can prove and give you my opinion when I clearly state it is my opinion.

On Tim Sermons, I cannot speak wholly for the FLIR deal, but it seems like he was pressured to do Garrett’s bidding, again an opinion. Not being able to speak to the man, I withhold judgment.

On Mo Michaux, I can only state that when he smelled something rotten, the oblivious hoax by Garrett, at least one he could prove, did his due diligence and he tried to warn Germer, tried to give Garrett time to come clean, and when it didn’t happen he bailed, and was attacked for doing such by Garrett’s friends.

Sometimes, as we have seen in other cases, you need a slap across the face to see the truth around you. And when Michaux opened his eyes he did what he could. When he crossed paths with me, he gave me everything I asked for and more, feeling his name was tarnished with his association with Garrett.

Now on to Garrett. In my opinion of him, well here’s a guy that lies and lies about those lies. He’s easy to catch in them if you listen carefully. But he likes manipulation, and will call someone with truth on their side a liar, we’ve given ample and concrete evidence of a hoax and a man who clearly received $1000 from at least one person, and didn’t bother to even pay them back. It’s his name on that PayPal receipt, not anyone else’s. It’s his responsibility to pay them back.

We know though he never had any intention of paying anyone back for 3 day expeditions that last a day or hours, or one that didn’t even kick off.

That is why Mr. Garrett has earned himself a spot in the Squatchdetective Hall of Shame.

Bob Garrett in his final sentence to stated he wished he never heard of me. Well I take that as a compliment coming from him.

But I dare assume there is at least a few people out of money that wish they never heard of Bob Garrett.

Till Next Time,

“The Anti-Hermit”

Yesterday, I spoke of Biscardi and Dyer.

Dallas and Wayne, well, they may not be everyone’s typical or mainstream Bigfoot Researcher, but they believe in what they are doing and what they are experiencing, so as goofy as people think they may be, they’re alright by me. They have a right to enjoy what they do, and they do. And I like that.

But let’s get  to the nitty-gritty here.  My take on Morgan Matthews.

Morgan Matthews

First of all his whole premise of finding Bigfoot researchers and following them around to satisfy his childhood wish to see if Bigfoot really exists is HOGWASH!

First the movie starts with Ivan Marx, proven hoaxer (just ask Peter Byrne and John Green) who happens to be Tom  Biscardi’s “Jedi Master.” Later you will see more clips from Marx’s movies including a RARE clip of Biscardi actually doing something in the field other than complaining about people.

Then Matthews picks on a number of representatives of the Bigfoot community. He devotes less than a minute or two to the very credible Bigfoot Discovery Museum and researcher Mike Rugg. Even less time devoted to the yet even more credible, Dr. Jeff Meldrum .

Biscardi scolding his girlfriend for making noise during his interview.

In one scene after Matthews asks Biscardi a question, Biscardi stops himself in the middle of answering the question to scold his girlfriend Joan. Matthews never returns to the question meaning to me as the viewer, Matthews never cared about the question in the first place except as filler.

What he really wanted was drama and “assholism.”

Assholism” – The constant state of being condescending, narcissistic,  insisting on being right all the time and blaming everyone else for their shortcomings aka an asshole.  While everyone can be an asshole at times, especially myself included,  It is the constant that applies in the situation of Dyer and Biscardi.

Matthews picked on, at least a couple of easy targets that being Dyer and Biscardi. If  you don’t think that was planned it was. Biscardi in 2010 had been bragging about traveling with the BBC to his contacts around the country.

Time for a hoax debunking sidebar…

Another thing we called correct here on this blog which the movie proves correct, that being of the Dyer shoot dates.

At the expedition time with Dyer, we see Dyer in his mocked up Suburban. He owned that vehicle when he lived in Texas, which was 2010-2011. In 2012 he was in Florida and left after domestic violence allegations where he relocated to Nevada around June or  July from what we can surmise. This earlier time coincides with the 911 call in the movie placed by the homeless folks.

Here’s a cap from the movie depicting Dyer’s plates which were from… TEAXAS!

Dyer Truck

(Above) Texas plate and his Suburban place this circa 2010 – 2011.

What people who supported this hoax, or chose to believe in Dyer, don’t know is that he has left an indelible footprint of his movements on the internet.  Being a former PI it’ was pretty easy to follow along with Dyer just being Dyer.

Let’s face facts. Most researchers including Wayne and Dallas, act with restraint and like gentleman around filmmakers, news media, documentarians. The two narcissists / sociopaths here cannot restrain their true nature. Again easy targets.

In my opinion and I think if people really think on it they will agree, that  if Matthews had a true interest in the topic, and had at least a good R&D unit, he would have stayed clear of at lest two of the three groups he followed. But instead he sought them out… what does that tell you?

I don’t think he was trying to destroy the community as a whole or even mock the community as a whole, he was trying to get the goat of the three and actually ended up only really zinging one, that being Biscardi. You can tell Matthews just did not like Biscardi at all.

And I think the feeling was mutual, because first Biscardi never spoke of his BBC misadventure to any of my contacts after the jaunt, and certainly he hasn’t been promoting “Shooting Bigfoot,” on his website which as a true “media panhandler” that he is, comes as a complete policy reversal.

“Media Panhandler:” – calling the media to announce you are in town, even though you haven’t even investigated, or looked at a single piece of evidence. Common to people who exhibit assholism, because of their narcissist mannerisms.

Chris Noël acting like he is apologizing but is being disingenuous

Now by this point, if you still believe in ANYTHING Rick Dyer has said in the past without any hard evidence to back it up, well…

One particular post by Chris Noël kind of turned my head a bit… (My Comments in Yellow)

“Here is my current viewpoint on the matter.

Evidently, the "whole thing" was not a hoax, as many have claimed.

But by the same token, it appears that I was wrong in believing that Dyer killed a Sasquatch on the night in question, for which I apologize.

As we can see by the footage, however, Dyer did shoot (or shoot at) one from very close range, the same one that then retaliated against Morgan Matthews.

Dyer was so close to achieving his goal on 9/6/12 that when he failed, his frustration led him to simply go ahead and pretend that he had succeeded, no matter the cost to others. Either that or he returned to the site and killed one at a later date.”

–Christopher Noël March 25th, 2014  YouTube

Now we have an additional predicate on Cryptomundo.com with his repeat of the above he wrote on the YouTube site…

“In the wake of the other night’s broadcast of “Shooting Bigfoot” on BBC Channel 4, here is my current thinking…”

                                                                          — Chris Noel (Cryptomundo March 26th, 2014

Say what???

Noël was with Facebook Find Bigfoot’s Jon Foss and Jim Larrinaga the night “Shooting Bigfoot” appeared at the Hot Docs Film Festival in Ontario, Canada…

on April 30th, 2013!

As you know we had a contact in the theater the night it was premiered at HotDocs… here’s the pics that were posted with our post of April 30th, 2013 entitled, Survey Says: HOAX.

Pictures posted on April 30th, 2013.

Only after the masses have seen it almost a year later than Noël viewed it,  is he “rethinking” “apologizing.”

I call shenanigans.  Now with his statement he is just fence sitting on something that has been put to rest, because he really can’t admit he was wrong.

An with that, how can we believe in what Noël writes in the future about anything knowing he just can’t face facts and the truth?

(Above) Is this a characteristic of being a truthful journalist?

Furthermore not only was I disappointed in his rationalization of this hoax, but also how he was, is and continuing to handle this hoax.

I was utterly disappointed and shocked when this event occurred, as his friends as he calls them had been outted long before I mentioned their true names on this blog.

I still await an apology for that affair from him, but am expecting that not any time soon. Remember it seems arrogance has replaced what a real man, heck a real community leader, in some of these folks.

Robert Lindsay actually called a number of researchers and conceded defeat, apologetically. Shows much more manhood (not gender specific but human specific) than what we have seen from the folks still trying to cling to hope.

No comments from the felon?

Anyone heard from Allen “Musky Allen” Issleb lately???

Yeah that’s enough said on this topic!

And Finally Dyer himself…

While he gives us the peace out…

We gave him a peace out months ago… (this guy must have a man-crush on me or something he’s always imitating me!) )

Usually when a sociopath writes an accusatory series of statements, there is a lot of inward reflection… (Again my comments in yellow)

“Haters come in all sizes all different shapes from all nationalities. These people thrive on pain and misery because their personal life is full of it.

They come from broken homes or maybe these people we’re made fun of all their life . Most haters are single living by themselves or at home with parents.

Some haterS are overweight and even hate themselves. All haters hate their lives and and are so lonely they have way too much time on their hands, these people aren’t members of any clubs or very sociable.

But give them a keyboard in the computer and no consequences for their actions. They feel empowered. But make no mistake they would never come out from behind the safety of their keyboard!

This makes them very easily controlled.” (NO, IT MAKES YOU ALL TOO PREDICTABLE.)

There is no such thing as bad media. (YEAH THERE IS…ITS CALLED “SHOOTING BIGFOOT!”)

—Rick Dyer March 9th, 2014 on his blog

This man deserves no sympathy, no matter how pathetic he is. I have lost any empathy for what he has done to himself, not because of the hoaxes, but for the lies and attempts to destroy people lives, all of which has failed.

The only thing he has done is destroyed his girlfriend Rosa’s and his kids’ lives.

Yeah Rick… you’re a prize! What a sad example of a loser.

Till next time,

Sometimes I do have moments of clarity, and even thought people see me as a comedian at times, it is on this blog many times my seriousness comes out. After doing this for fifteen years, I am a veteran, but I‘m not the oldest war dog out there… but I do have a rather unique view… so here we go with this weeks blog…

The Last Five Minutes… of this hoax that is.

After “Shooting Bigfoot,” airs in the UK on BBC Storyville, the heat is finally coming down on Morgan Matthews.

This story just won’t seem to die, probably because of Morgan Matthews trying to maintain an interest in his film .

Matthews taking fire for being a hoaxer.

First according to the Bigfoot Evidence blog, Matthews is taking fire for being a hoaxer by some folks who have just seen the video. You can read their comments here.

Secondly, while retracing some prior research I saw something very interesting on my Google search…

morgan matthews googsearch

Yes it actually says, “Morgan Matthews Bigfoot hoaxer.”

Here’s the Wikipedia screenshot…

Morgan Mattews BF Hoaxer

(Click picture to enlarge)

Thanks to an intrepid YouTuber… we were now privy to seeing some low definition of the last five minutes of, “Shooting Sasquatch.”

The Last Five Minutes of Shooting Bigfoot

In my opinion, the interaction and reactions of Morgan Matthews seem a bit over the top and the whole thing looks staged and a “Blair Witch,” homage.

What the last five minutes tells us…

Well for one thing, what Matthews says at the end of the film, should have woken the tools that still believed in Dyer after watching the movie the hell up.

Remember when I warned people back in 2012, Dyer had bought some high end video equipment?

Well according to Dyer since the beginning, he got the tent video, then got more ribs, and BANG!

You can read this excerpt from Dyer’s own website…

“It was September 6, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. The 6th day of an expedition that would change lives forever. After hearing various reports from the homeless people in that area of seeing a giant hairy beast in this area dragging a deer across the roadway. Rick Dyer plans an expedition there with Morgan Mathews Director of the movie “Shooting Bigfoot.” The morning begins with a visit from Bigfoot (Rick lured in by nailing ribs to a tree they bought from a nearby Wallmart).

Rick plucks up the courage to film the Bigfoot on his mobile phone and started to record what is now known as “The Tent Video”. Glancing over it’s should to look Rick dead in the eye. Both men having seen Bigfoot come out of the tents, while Rick picked up is gun ready to shoot but his hands went numb and he could not do nothing at that point. Bigfoot ripped the ribs off the tree and casually started to walk away. Every 4 or 5 steps it did the “classic Bigfoot” look turning its head every few seconds. Rick turned to Morgan who just freaked out. Matthews said “We gotta get him on film” he didn’t know that Rick already had the mobile phone video. They went straight back to Wal-Mart and bought about $200.00 worth of ribs. After they returned, Rick nailed these ribs all over the place.

Gun at ready which he originally thought would be for protection only waited for nightfall, with the see through net open all the way around and his night-vison on, he started to hear footsteps. Matthews also heard the noise and Rick helped him out of his tent. Morgan gets out with this huge camera and was helped up by Dyer and that when it all started. Dyer’s gun had a light at the end of it and both started walking through the woods…”

Source http://bigfoottoday.com/bigfoots-death/

But to those who know “Rick’s version,” why is Matthews version different.

Here’s a few screen caps of what was stated in the film, as the film claims, Dyer tries to claim the film in Matthews camera, but returns LATER to get  the Tent Video.

The film goes on to show Dyer with former Veep, (hard to keep count these days), BJ Breshears.

So this should have set alarm bells off for all those who knew the story of Rick Dyer’s baloney both the HUGE story inconsistency and prior history and WHO SAW THIS FILM.

Mind you when I see the complete HD video of  the entire Dyer sequence, I believe I can correlate the 2011 camp photos with the camp you see in the movie.

What Do I Think?

What I think is some people had an extreme arrogance. And arrogance where they could not look at the side of being wrong. They got entrenched and bought in. The one thing you can never EVER do is buy in.

The proponents of Dyer that remained to the end, and I am not talking to the people belonging to the cult of Dyer who were never researchers before Rick Dyer 2012 and probably won’t be again.

But the researchers that remained to the end, are they complicit. Yes I do believe so. Why?

  • Failure to have any objectivity.
  • Having no evidence to base their claim on. (The words of a hoaxer as being the only source, is not evidence.)
  • Doing authentication videos without any on scene investigation and making things up. (Example – Portraying a campfire video from an earlier film and portraying it the one the said night of the incident. The authentication video itself was compiled from pictures Dyer had uploaded but not labeled)
  • Asking people to lie, because they believe they have the “moral imperative.” (That was covered here in this blog as a researcher angered that I had pointed out the previously published names of people to ask me to lie and state I was wrong.)
  • Profiteering off the coattails of the hoax with fiction rather than fact. Some people were pissed I wrote “Fifty Large,” claiming it was profiting off a hoax. In that case, I did several things, first I never sold it on Amazon. Second is mine I based mine on fact and had done research including getting 85 pages of police reports, which costs money. So my book had stuff exclusive to it. However this individual’s book was written basically on the flawed opinion that Dyer had killed a Bigfoot. If I’d bought it, I’d be demanding my money back.
  • Attempting to be getting to the truth, but then switch back to it’s real afterwards. Facebook FindBigfoot  sent me out to California to call Dyer’s bluff, or so they said. Perhaps they were looking for vindication to give the appearance of being unbiased. The later defended themselves as saying they paid for me to go to California. NO, they stated they used frequent flyer miles to obtain my ticket. Not quite paying. Any incidental expenses I incurred on my own. Made it soud like I was on the payroll. Seems like another attempt to set me as a patsy like Biscardi-Dyer tried in 2008. That didn’t work out for them all too well and neither did this either. Mind you I wouldn’t have thought much about it, if they had casually stated them sending me to California, but the manner in which they did, made it sound like they were unbiased. Nope they were very biased and did not listen to reasoning until it was far too late. Not only did they take themselves down, but Chris Noel as well.
  • The lack of remorse by any of them for any of their actions or by anyone they particularly wronged.
  • Spreading of rumors via PM’s saying that they have, had, or will members of their team inspect the body. Much like Dyer’s details, which are vague and non-committal, these statements were made of the same ilk. No names, dates or places.

Lets face it, FBFB and Chris Noel took similar paths. They backed a losing horse for whatever reason. If they think my ascent to where I am know today had all to do with the 2008 hoax they are very flawed in that train-wreck of thought.

I don’t think FBFB gave Dyer anything special like Biscardi gave him in 2008, which was a circus of an international press conference. But Dyer was out to destroy the Bigfoot Community agian, and FBFB the biggest group on FB was an easy mark.

Rick Dyer likes to think everyone was riding his coattails. Half the station graphics on his vehicles that are networks he has never been on. If that doesn’t spell sociopath I don’t know what does.

Fact is, like I’ve said he was riding on the coattails of the Bigfoot community.

Perhaps he convinced the media hungry FBFB because of that thought process. I mean what was FBFB? How does one get 40K+ followers in such a short period of time. Well you don’t do it for free. And if you’re paying for that sort of thing, then there needs to be a return on investment right??? I mean they were sending FLIR’s out like candy, including to Rick Dyer. Funny, there was no thermals from Dyer at all.

But the thing is I never compromised integrity, I never compromised the truth, correcting any mistakes, improving processes.

And I put in the time, and hard work.

Things FBFB never did.

How do we take a negative and turn it positive

Well strangely I see many positives of this.

First, I think people now realize the bar that needs to be set for what constitutes real evidence versus subjective evidence versus BS. Folks have called out, rather quickly other smaller scale hoaxers and people will again be engaged in looking at evidence with a skeptical eye, something that has lacked in this field for the last several years.

Maybe people will start realizing that all the “serious” studies that have been done here and in Canada, that have been drawn out for so long, with millions spent, have been drawn out because they have NOTHING. At least nothing they prove to science with ease.

Stuff that we will call out when we see it. Or methodology and processes they know is wrong, but try to justify to us, he Bigfoot researcher, for acceptance when they really need to be justifying it to science. The reason they don’t is the reason for so much debate and mistrust.

And frankly I want people to double check what they see and read as evidence. Check and check again before making up their mind, even on my own stuff, especially on my own stuff. I am about the truth, the good, the bad and the ugly.  I am not perfect, neither is the next guy or gal. You will see no grandiose claims on legitimate sites. I don’t get much in the way of evidence every time I go out. On my site you see compilations.

But why is it we see so much damned beginners luck…over and over again by the same folks? I’m happy if I am able to extrapolate some recordings or pics over a season. And not every year or season is there an encounter. Folks need to put themselves in a reality check over what you see and believe.

Why is it we’ve had five people claim to have shot one of these creatures dead and yet there is no body. (Fred Beck, Frank Kerlow, “Bugs” Hale, Justin Smeja and Ricky Dyer)  Or nothing to support their claim other than just words. I have a feeling there’s a commonality here unfortunately. I don’t thing it’s too hard to figure out.

Of course all have excuses as to why there isn’t evidence.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Put up or shut up.

As far as setting Bigfoot research back, I’ve heard that a thousand times. The only thing that sets Bigfoot research back is the constant jibbing by the media, and our own short sidedness in dealing with other researchers, witnesses and sometimes our own families. The public forgets pretty damned fast.

Till Next Time,

Being steeped in reality is what we all need to be sometimes. Sometimes we need to listen to the “old timers,” and put ego aside, self included.

In other cases we need to stop becoming “dreamers.”

Sometimes we even stop being fair, or nice and become investigators. Verify.

Sierra Kills and Dr. Brian Sykes

This week we’ve had some major developments in Bigfoot body cases, the first via Dr. Brian Sykes, NatGeo Channel concerning the alleged Sierra Kills shooter Justin Smeja.

Justin Smeja…DNA all bear.

Turns out everything is bear or nothing…the steak (which we knew from other DNA tests) and of course now the bloody boot which turned up no useable DNA. Hence no Squatch.

All we have is a video via a FLIR device by veteran researcher Bart Cutino that may or may not substantiate Sasquatch activity in the area the kill had allegedly occurred.

Still I must say that at least in those cases physical evidence was turned over to scientists for analysis, giving me the leeway to at least stay on the fence and have some hope.

But, as a friend said to me the other day, “Hope is for suckers.” Show me something concrete.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the Sierra Kills now becomes that of Bigfoot Legend and Lore and much debate for the future generations of those who want to mix it up and fight over the topic, the same as the Ketchum Study, the PG Film, The Massacre Debate and so on and so forth.

MiB’s and Rick Dyer… AGAIN!

It should come as no surprise that a person so angered over the Sierra Kill has been one Rick Dyer.

See many folks think that the major motivation was money. Wrong, not at first. It is no coincidence that He really started making the rounds again right after the announcement of the Sierra Kill. He publicly called Smeja a hoaxer, but claimed himself to be truthful.

Rick Dyer…”MiB’s took my Bigfoot…AGAIN!”

I mean how can you be the “Best Bigfoot Tracker in the World,” if someone else brought one down or in before you?

Let’s not forget, just how angry Dyer was with the old Team Tazer. He bought all the domain names he could with the name Team Tazer.

Then he tries to call out his enemies, when one or more (me) calls him out and actually goes to Los Angeles, he tries in vain to hurt me by attempting me to spend hundreds of dollars on a cab ride, which he claimed he would pay. Luckily it did not work out that way. Click here to read about the LA trip.

(From Left to Right) Plane Tic to LAX, LAX and the “No Show Party!” with Bugs Mitchell.

Then doesn’t show. Claims a great victory, leaving many of his followers stunned and saying, “What the ^&#*@?” The next day all but a small handful of his followers are left. In following weeks, more jump ship.

Little obsessed? You bet!!!

The Ketchum Study build up was at it’s peak as well. That became a bust for most over the course of the last year, as it has not been accepted by science.

Now that the Sierra Kill DNA is bear, and the Syke’s Study has made no significant Bigfoot breakthrough, it does not surprise me, in the least, that Dyer has bowed out and has been leading up to this since coincidentally with the announcement of the NatGeo show that would reveal the samples authenticity or not.

(Left) HotDocs in Toronto in April..decent turnout. (Right: Courtesy of Joe Mastroianni) the NY showing in November and post the calling Dyer’s bluff in LA in August… theater very empty.

MiB’s took his Bigfoot. Zero for originality, as he used that excuse in 2011 already. Sounds like someone is “selling their cabbages twice,” as my father used to say.

However, I don’t think for one second, this is the last of seeing Rick Dyer.

Unless the Feds get him this time.

Dyer’s website as of this morning has this message. Gone are the memberships, he was once selling.

Message on Dyer’s web site this morning, blog has been silent since Nov. 17th, 2013

But if there is someone claiming to bring one in or has bagged one, be certain Dyer will be there with another “Hank.”

If Dyer has any more supporters, then they need a severe reality check, as most did in August after I and some others called Dyer’s bluff in California. That sent a full house

The Aftermath

Why can’t some of us let this go…

well there is something teachable in everything here.

1. The No-Brainer: Some people are just liars…

                      hotairdownloaddownload (1)

(Left to Right) Famous Fibbers: Tom Biscardi (I saw it, I touched it, I smelled it), Allen (Musky Allen) Issleb (It was partially embalmed), Ricky Dyer (I am the best Bigfoot Tracker in the world), Linda Newton-Perry (If the photo of “Big Clyde” is a fake I will shut down Bigfoot Ballyhoo.)

Especially when they have a track record of it, making grandiose claims not attempting to support it with any evidence. Or the evidence upon closer inspection is doctored or misrepresented.

All, in my opinion seem to suffer some sort of defect, making up lies about people to further their cause or make them sound like the victim.

There is a commonality about all of them.

2. The Unfortunate Part: Some people are naïve, even if they are super intelligent. And sometimes play into the hoaxer’s plan.

Some of the more notable willing victims, Vermont researcher Chris Noel, and the Facebook FindBigfoot Team, who still had trouble coming to grips with the truth even after L.A.

Doesn’t make them evil, just makes them unreliable if they don’t change their methodology and trains of thought. I hope for their sake they do. I don’t like seeing anyone fail that had only good intentions and their mistake was believing in Dyer.

We are only human.

Unfortunately one of those human qualities is pride and ego.

Facebook FindBigfoot did make the statement of getting out of the game if this turned sour. And it did. So it is hard to say what the future holds for them. If they back out on it, will the world hold them to their feet to the fire like I did Linda Newton-Perry two years ago?

Difference there is Perry wasn’t a victim, she was the source of all the hoaxes on her site. FB/FB were approached by Dyer and believed him. The Issleb involvement cemented  their belief. So can we forgive them? I think so, but only if their work going forward is a little more objective.

They need to learn to listen to those who are in the know.

Example: I wrote a book on this Dyer guy as well as a few of his co-conspirators from 2008 since I was at ground zero…and they ignored everything I said for a majority of the time about the truth of this man… they were his victims.

And as true to life, some victims start off by being willing victims.

Too important of a lesson should be learned here by the the majority of the researchers that were naïve to believe in Dyer’s lies, were that they were only in research post Body Hoax 2008.

They wanted to give Dyer a pass on his previous actions. For some reason they forgot all his other lies between then and now, like another body, oh and the how the MiB’s got that one too.

But for the Naïve: Don’t want to believe me? Proceed at your own risk.

In Summary

We can let go of the parties responsible and ignore them.

But we should never forget them.

To forget them, we would end up forgetting the lesson.

And we as a race, do that all too often.

So it actually looks like we might start off 2014 with new business instead of all this unresolved stuff like Ketchum, Sykes, Smeja, Dyer, Smith… etc.

Till Next Time,

Many months ago, a BFRO expedition organizer was jammed up for a bit at a National Park. Seems the Feds were fed up with people charging other people to walk through, camp and hike at their park.

Squatchdetective.com has learned that Rick Dyer will be doing the same:

Advertisement that was on Gold Member’s page prior to site crash of 5/13/13.

So in case Mr. Dyer wants to avoid incursion with Federal wildlife officials, he might want to choose an alternate location. As an FYI, insiders have told us that the Bigfoot Tracker Ohio expedition originally scheduled for April 26,27,28 which was later moved to May 17, 18, 19 has been cancelled basically due to lack of interest.

So what does one get on a supposed Team Tracker Expedition, (remember we exposed on this blog earlier this year, most pictures of previous expeditions by BF Tracker.com to be stock imagery).

Well, obviously it is supposed to be an Expedition of a Lifetime…

This really should say it all, as really, Dyer’s obsession with being a superstar and being 100 percent correct, one hundred percent of the time is starting to implode the Team Tracker group and to his “customers” (victims).

Dyer crumbling1

And in case everyone is wondering here is Mr. Dyers event schedule line up:

See the Video # 2 release? What have we been saying since late last year when our investigation revealed Dyer buying movie making equipment?

And how can you guarantee when the “Body Tour” will be??? Doesn’t mainstream science need to verify this? How can you set a date on a tour?

And let me get this straight… (CHRIS NOEL…HERE”S EVIDENCE FOR YA!)

  1. Dyer says Minnow was in possession of the body hence the Navigator . No explanation as to how it came back to him. Apparently gets a pass from FBFB and sympathizers on that one.
  2. Makes statements that universities and scientists are looking at it, yet is non-specific as to who it may be. No announcements except by Dyer on this point.
  3. If the film that is released on Aug. 14th, 2013 is of a body on a slab…wait a minute…isn’t the universities examining it now? Or will “Musky” Allen Issleb be part of that film? Or is this just “additional footage” that Dyer will claim that allegedly was shot in September last year.
  4. Did anyone see the copyright date on the end of “Shooting Sasquatch?” Hmm..pretty interesting, if it says 2011 won’t it? (Films put their copyrights on films when they are completed btw, not when they are begun.)
  5. How about all the pre movie inconsistencies, the FBFB authentication film, the fact the tent picture was on BF Tracker since August, Dyer not billing the movie, first at the correct venue, and then saying it would be vindication for him.

Posted on BF Tracker before the release of “Shooting Sasquatch” at Hot Docs

Remember dear readers, while some think little details are trivial, they are far from it. Far too many criminals and bad guys are caught with a small trivial detail which leads them to eventuality.

Now for some interesting trivia…

Mr. Dyer says I’m obsessed with him… but look closely how he has over the last couple of years try to look like me, going to the shaven head, and even the same facial hair patterns. Pretty creepy.  No, not obsessed, otherwise I’d be thinking about his hoax and him all day long. I just don’t like hoaxers that’s all.

But on the other hand, look at Mr. Dyer. Making up stories about people, adding more lies to excuse the lies he made up in the first place.

Now Mr. Noel contends there is no evidence of a hoax. That this is all hater’s gloating over the disappointment of FBFB and “Shooting Sasquatch.”

In all honesty, I’ve tried very hard to get them to see the light after the movie in one last attempt.

But you see folks, I find it very difficult, when a person as respected as Mr. Noel, and to some extent FBFB, to just look the other way at contradictory evidence.

What we see are at the very least, people becoming accomplices after the fact. If they had some argument against the evidence against Dyer’s claims, but they don’t.

Instead they make excuses, that these are from people that are mad, taking things out of context and nitpicking. They make blanket statements like, “we know more than you know.” They have become Dyer apologists.

I call bullshit to all of it. They’re accomplices after the fact. Not saying they know anything, they may very well believe he has a body, but their malfeasance makes them responsible.

Stunned by the lack of what Dyer would said would be in the film, FBFB in conference. Later they would become excuse makers for Dyer, on how it was Matthews fault.

Yes they may be gullible naïve, and not in on it at the beginning, but ignoring evidence with logical argument with evidence, which so far other than 2 seconds of film in a documentary that makes fun of the community, there has been no proof for their argument.

The minute Dyer had a claim, or when it was revealed the “Tent Video",” was revealed here by us, to be Dyer, their “Bullshit Detectors” should have been on high alert.

Instead of questioning inconsistencies, they accepted excuse after excuse. And instead of putting the brakes on then, they took Dyer’s word as Gospel.

Folks FBFB and Chris Noel (at least on this case) are not acting like researchers or investigators. That is appearance.

They walked in, as FBFB does with ALL of its videos, “How can we prove this real?”

Real investigators walk in with the attitude, “How can I reasonably debunk this.” Only then will it lead you to the proper conclusions to extraordinary claims.

The Body Cases… What Gives?

Frankly it does not matter in the spectrum of who I like and whom I dislike. I like Dyer, although his latest stunt and lies, have brought that to unlike, but not hate. He in his sociopathic mind thinks its funny. Although not so much anymore I think.

Here’s five body cases to throw at you:

1. Frank Kerlow – 1960’s claimed to have a BF body (HOAX)

2. “Bugs” Hale – 1980’s and 90’s, claimed to have buried Sassy. (HOAX)

3. Dyer-Whitton-Biscardi – 2008 “Bigfoot on Ice.” (HOAX)

4. Justin Smeja – 2010, claimed to have shot 2, killed one juvenile. (UNDER INVESTIGATION)

5. Rick Dyer 2012 – Yeah… (UNDER INVESTIGATION)

The first three have all been proven to be hoaxes. In all three cases there was no physical evidence that could be traced to the incident. In case number three the single lone sample, was possum contaminated by human.

What does that tell us today about the two unsolved cases:

How Smeja differs. Not that I am saying his account is truthful, but I am having a difficult time not being directly involved in the case, so my sense here is purely analytical.

Like #3 he has submitted samples to a lab that has come back as contaminated, however items were not claimed to have been cut off body, as with case # 3. Smeja also took and passed a lie detector test. A bold move, although not entirely conclusive.

Since I know two investigators on the case… I will leave that to them to get to the truth. I am not the “end all, be all.” Never claimed to have been. The Smeja case is in very competent hands.

Dyer’s case, No physical evidence provided, except one person who has claimed to see the body. In direct similarity to Case #1 listed. Kerlow originally had an accomplice, who played a minor role in a verification method. Like the Bugs case, Dyer is the only one talking.

Don’t you think, the assistant producer, who no longer works for Minnow would be talking? Matthews? No all you get is round abouts? Why? It helps the film along and keeps them out of trouble, (at least that’s what they perceive it as.)

Fact is that Dyer’s case despite some of the hype, is not to the level of 2008’s hype. If you look on it, on the surface, out of the list above, the 3 known hoaxes (cases 1-3) this one does not differ from them nor in any way rise to any unusual circumstance.

Till next time,
