For the last week people have been asking me who the “most respected skeptic” is, Musky Allen.
Well folks I have a series of questions to ask yourself?
Where was Musky in 2008?
2009?
2010?
Only late in 2011 did we see him. And as shown previously in this blog, at least one of his statements is blatantly incorrect.
Why hasn’t any of the old-timers heard of this person?
Most respected? By whom?
There have been some statements, that I’ve heard he has made by some, that make me question the validity of this person at all.
Who is Musky Allen? A screen name with a face behind it. Why the lack of whom he really is?
Where are some articles or a blog he has written?
I mean when I think of Skeptics with reputation I think of James Randi, Joe Nickell and Ben Radford. The common denominator between the three is, THEY USE THEIR REAL NAME. They’d be traceable to see if some of their previous claims are true and to see that their background is congruent to what they claim.
In some cases, as in witnesses, they do it to protect themselves from scorn, professional harassment.
But in the case of a skeptic?
Now Musky says the body is real?
Were you surprised?
I was not.
A nameless character, first annoying the antagonists of a particular person, to the point of being blocked on social network sites and building up a pseudo reputation, then goes out to the particular person who has amazing claims and then verifying them.
The only surprise was the announcement of them acting in concert. But once the announcement was made, it all MADE SENSE.
The first indicator was the fact that on certain podcast shows, where Musky was, so was this particular person. The build up of Musky taking on the very people who believed in this particular person’s claims.
Then bring in Musky to the scene of the particular person and OF COURSE, he’s going to verify it.
Let’s also remember folks that I myself am a skeptic. When I walk into a case I take things at face value an I dig. And then dig some more. I do my damnedest to debunk everything. That adds value to putting things into the unclassified category.
That’s what I’d like to do, why are people trusting Musky, because he claims to be a skeptic. (Apparently now claimed)
Without a real name, how do you really know that he just wasn’t playing a part?
Now if I am correct, this will be turned into a personal attack on ole Musky. And attacks will be directed at me, because I simply called into question some facts and requesting that clarification and some transparency be made.
But it’s not. It’s just a simple call for the need for Musky to prove who he really is other than an online personality and prove his background.
He made the claims, so let him prove his background as any legitimate skeptic would ask for.
Again all we’ve seen is some forum, chat room and Facebook comments.
All I’m asking for is what a reputable skeptic would ask for…PROOF…some transparency.
I will say, I do know Musky’s real name. Things don’t add up to me, BUT…rather than point it out, it’s time for the readers to do their own little digging. Let them come forward with the facts.
I will let people be their own detectives. Don’t be quick to accept statements, be quick to accept facts.
Till Next Time…

I think he alluded to his real name in a debate with FB/FB a few weeks ago.
But was that the truth????? 🙂
He said his first name is Allen.
My issue is the corpse preservation. Parasitic powder stops bugs not decomposition. A “cool” room, with partial embalming (organs and Cavity) wouldn’t stop the natural process. It’s been 5 months, so they say, and skin would be deteriorated, hair would fall out, not be impossible to remove. You can’t fool a scientific and natural process like decomposition.
It seems to me, if this is real and Dyer has a backer of some sort with cash, why call in a “nobody” to verify it??? Something of this significance would warrant a serious “legitimate” witness. Ultimately, when the documentary is released, this will all be found as either an enormous promotional hoax, a personal hoax Dyer is performing on the people who hate him from the gorilla suit fiasco, or if it’s true then Dyer better have some very fat backers because he’s going to need legal fees, i.e. murder, hunting in Texas without a license, moving a human body over state lines… No matter how you look at this, Dyer’s name will become infamous and not for any reasons a mama would want her boy to be famous.
The way that Dyer presents the story is that Musky was being a jerk and constantly questioning him on his claim. It wasn’t that he was known skeptic, it was supposedly for more personal reasons.
As far as murder charges go, I doubt seriously that would ever happen. As far as the highly suspect tale goes, there were some type of authorities or officials called in originally after the shooting. To me that is one of the weakest parts of the whole fiasco. It is hard to believe that Dyer would be allowed quick possession of an unknown species or that someone would not have uncovered an official record.
He was way too protective of Tom Biscardi on Sharons page a few months ago for my liking. And when I said that Biscardi was just a hoaxer he got super defensive and demanded ‘proof’ from me, so when I said my piece and explained further why I had my opinions I never heard another word from him. I wonder if Sharon still has that someplace.
@Ken anderson, he said his first name was allen but did not reveal his last name. If he did such extensive work as a bigfooter before being a skeptic, prove it. If anyone is to be taken seriously, they can not hide behind a fake name. In this story, all we have is two men doing alot of talking.
Rick Dyer could of chosen anyone in the past 5 months to view this body, but he suddenly wants some “self proclaimed” skeptic with a BF past to come see it.
The claims keep getting more stupid as the years progress. Never confuse hogwash with the real search for bigfoot. I respect true believers, although I don’t necessarily agree with them, but they seem to be very few and far between., the rest are just dysfubctional swarmbots for bigfoot.
What is amazing is someone like Musky Allen (not real name) is picked by RD to view the body and the masses say, hey this is real. A known researcher can have a sighting and is not believed due to lack of evidence! I guess we believe what we want to!
Steve, you describe Musky Allen as “building up a pseudo reputation”. That would indicate that you have reason to believe he is not at all who he says he is (aside from not using his real name). If not, that is a big presumption to make don’t you think?
Thanks for your comment Icy. In this case, no it is not a big presumption. He operate under a pseudonym, he has no history of anything except posting on Facebook, Blogtalk chat rooms and I think on the BFF. As outlined his comments regarding what is direct evidence is completely incorrect. The only thing we know other than what some have described as “trolling behavior” is what he’s being billed as being. Plus I know his real identity. It’s a pseudo-reputation.
I don’t know who Musky Allen is and only heard of him just recently. There are some thing’s pointing towards a hoax again but we will have to see. He said himself he friended Dyer before this all came about on facebook. Which is interesting. A skeptic and a hoaxer being friends isn’t the opposites attracting at all but the like thinking kind maybe. A 30.06 shooting Bigfoot in the head would have caused enough damage to be noticeable but he didn’t say anything major to be wrong with it’s appearance and no bullet wound’s were mentioned. Musky then said the mouth was closed so he didn’t think it may have been shot or it was possible. As far as people go, they usually will die with their mouth’s open. If they die with them closed it is rare. Usually the jaws of the dead need to be broken so they can get the dentures in and sew the mouth shut after rigor has set in. Google Musky’s name and all I get mostly is his association with Dyer. So, I feel comfortable with calling this one another elaborate hoax by Dyer.
